In the spring of 2016, a life was tragically cut short in Ripley, Tennessee. Arric Lamont Ford, a 22-year-old male, was found deceased on the evening of May 10th. A Ripley police officer, responding to a disturbance call, discovered Ford's body lying on the road beside a vehicle at the intersection of Highland Extended and Joanne Street. It was apparent that he had suffered from gunshot wounds to his chest.
The investigation into the death of Arric Lamont Ford was a collaborative effort
between the Ripley Police Department and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. Through their work, investigators learned that Ford had been involved in an altercation earlier that night. The trail of evidence and information led them to a suspect, Jabarre Jarrett, who was 27 years old at the time. It is believed that Jarrett caught up with Ford at the intersection where his body was later found and shot him.
Following the investigation, Jabarre Jarrett was arrested on the Friday following the incident. He faced several serious charges, including one count of First Degree Murder, one count of Employing a Firearm during the Commission of a Dangerous Felony, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. After his arrest, Jarrett was booked into the Lauderdale County Jail.
