Bobby Joe Nolen, a 55-year-old male deputy sheriff with the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Office in Tennessee, tragically lost his life on January 2, 1990. Deputy Nolen and his colleague, Deputy Kevan Ward, were shot and killed while giving a ride to an 82-year-old man whose car had broken down. Unbeknownst to the deputies, the elderly man had a revolver hidden in his jacket.
