On a late summer evening in Friendsville, Tennessee, a domestic dispute escalated into a violent and ultimately tragic event. On August 25, 2023, 68-year-old Jeffrey Scott West was at his Quarry Hollow Road home with his partner and her 24-year-old son, Kyle W. Spitze. An argument broke out between West and Spitze, the details of which remain known only to those present. The verbal altercation took a grave turn when West produced a handgun.
