On September 24, 2023, at approximately 12:18 a.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a shooting incident in the 2300 block of Wilson Street. Upon arrival, officers found a 28-year-old female, later identified as Whitney Ashlyn Bertil, suffering from life-threatening injuries. Despite immediate medical assistance, she succumbed to her injuries. A 33-year-old male victim was also located nearby with non-life-threatening injuries; both were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
