In the spring of 2014, the life of a young mother named Keiara Patton was tragically cut short in Chattanooga, Tennessee. On May 13, the 20-year-old Black female was in her apartment in the College Hill Courts public housing complex when she was shot in the head. Emergency services were called to the scene around 9:30 a.m., and Patton was rushed to a local hospital where she later died from her injuries. She left behind two young children.
