On July 28, 2019, Audrey Albritton, a 34-year-old woman from Chattanooga, TN, tragically lost her life in an early morning shooting. Audrey was found suffering from gunshot wounds at the 1400 block of East 28th Street, and despite efforts to save her, she was pronounced dead on the scene by Hamilton County EMS. A 35-year-old man, who was also shot, was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The suspect in this case was identified as Paul Kulikowski, a 58-year-old man.
After the shooting, Kulikowski took his own life during a standoff with the Chattanooga Police SWAT Team, who responded to the scene after he threatened suicide. Investigators confirmed that Kulikowski had confessed to the shootings before his death.
