On November 1, 2023, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Martin Police Department officers responded to a reported shooting at 5 Hillsboro Street in Martin, Tennessee. Upon arrival, they discovered 28-year-old Nicko Santiago suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Emergency medical services transported Santiago by ambulance to the Air Evac base in Martin, from where he was airlifted to a medical facility in Memphis. Despite medical intervention, Santiago succumbed to his injuries.
