On November 13, 2023, 17-year-old Jlymyra "Myra" Kirkendoll was fatally shot in the Frayser neighborhood of Memphis, Tennessee. A senior at Trezevant High School, Myra was just months away from graduation and had aspirations of attending culinary school to become a chef. The incident occurred less than half a mile from his school, around 3:30 p.m., as he was reportedly on his way to a tutoring session.
