In the early morning hours of January 27, 2024, the life of 27-year-old Shuntaria Latrice Virgous, a Black female, was tragically cut short in her Memphis, Tennessee community. Responding to a call of a shooting in the Frayser neighborhood at approximately 4:50 a.m., Memphis Police discovered Virgous deceased from a gunshot wound inside a residence on Alta Vista Avenue.
A mother to two young children, both under the age of seven, she was known by her loved ones for her dedication to her family.
In the immediate aftermath of the discovery, a man was taken into custody by the authorities for questioning. Family members identified this individual as the father of Virgous's children, with whom she had been in a relationship for about eight years.
