On the evening of February 22, 2025, Terrica Tabor, a 29-year-old Black woman and mother of three, was fatally shot while sitting in a car in Memphis, Tennessee. The incident occurred around 9:45 p.m. in the parking lot of the Star Lite Inn located in the 2900 block of South Third Street. Tabor was in the passenger seat of a Ford Edge with her boyfriend and sister when they noticed a woman watching them from a nearby stairway.
The woman, wearing a black-hooded coat, descended the stairs
and approached the passenger side of the vehicle where Tabor was seated. She then allegedly raised a gun and fired three shots into the car, striking Tabor. According to Tabor's sister, who was present in the vehicle, the shooter yelled, 'I told you, b—!' before fleeing the scene on foot. Emergency services were called, and Tabor was rushed to a local hospital, but she was ultimately pronounced dead from her gunshot wounds.
For nearly five months, the assailant remained at large. However, the Memphis Police Department's investigation, aided by surveillance footage from the motel, led them to identify a suspect. In the days following the shooting, an arrest warrant for first-degree murder was issued for Jenae Bradley. On July 15, 2025, the 32-year-old Bradley was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service. She was booked into the Shelby County Jail on a charge of first-degree murder.
