DeVondre S. Collins, a 19-year-old male, was fatally shot on the night of January 28, 2024, during a house party in a northeast Memphis, Tennessee apartment complex. The gathering took a tragic turn when gunfire erupted, leaving another man, 25-year-old Noah Collins, also deceased at the scene. Two other individuals were wounded in the shooting but were transported to a local hospital in non-critical condition.
According to witness statements, a man they knew as 'Reeload' brandished a
Glock handgun that had been modified with an automatic firing switch. He then began shooting indiscriminately at the party attendees before making his escape. The scene was chaotic, with investigators later recovering 31 shell casings and an empty Glock magazine, attesting to the intensity of the violence that had unfolded.
Law enforcement officials identified the suspect as 22-year-old Dartagnan Deshawn Lee. Following an investigation into the double homicide, a Shelby County Grand Jury handed down an indictment against Lee. He was subsequently taken into custody and booked into the Shelby County Jail.
The charges brought against Dartagnan Deshawn Lee are extensive and include two counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of DeVondre and Noah Collins. Additionally, he faces two counts of attempted first-degree murder for the two individuals who were injured but survived. Further charges include aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and various firearm-related offenses. A bond was set at $1,000,000.
