On the evening of September 20, 2020, Nechoe Lucas, a 32-year-old Black male, was fatally shot while sitting in his parked vehicle at a gas station on East Shelby Drive and Hodge Road in Memphis, Tennessee. The incident unfolded shortly before 8 p.m. when a man, later identified as 29-year-old Khiry Turner, drove up and parked nearby. Turner then walked over to Lucas's vehicle, exchanged some words with him, and opened fire with a handgun.
