On the evening of April 8, 2024, the life of 30-year-old Savannah Kristine Lumpkin was tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire in Clarksville, Tennessee. A loving mother, daughter, and friend, Ms. Lumpkin was known for her vibrant personality and as a hard worker at Bojangles and Subway. The shooting, which occurred at a residence on Martin Street, also claimed the life of 26-year-old Glenn Nicholson.
When Clarksville Police responded to the scene at approximately 6:34 p.m., they found both Ms. Lumpkin and Mr. Nicholson with fatal gunshot wounds.
The investigation into the double homicide led to a series of arrests in the weeks that followed. On April 12, 36-year-old Tristan Riley of Clarksville was apprehended in Chicago with the assistance of the Chicago Police Department's Fugitive Recovery Team. He was charged with two counts of homicide. The pursuit of justice continued, and on April 24, authorities arrested 20-year-old Tyson Mullins Jr., who was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on two counts of homicide.
Further investigative work led to the identification of two more individuals allegedly involved in the killings. Also on April 24, a 17-year-old male from Oak Grove, Kentucky, was taken into custody in his home state on a juvenile petition for homicide and awaited extradition. The following day, agents with the Clarksville Police Department's Special Operations Unit arrested 20-year-old Christopher Watkins of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, at a residence in Clarksville. He was also charged with homicide. While the arrests brought some measure of progress in the case, authorities have indicated that the investigation remains active and ongoing, with the possibility of more arrests.
