In the quiet community of Goodlettsville, Tennessee, a young life was abruptly cut short on the evening of April 12, 2024. Sixteen-year-old Emanuel Rentería Delgado, a male described by his family as a loving, respectful, and kind individual, was fatally shot near the entrance of the Trailmont Mobile Home Park on Walnut Drive, just off Dickerson Pike.
He was known to enjoy spending time with his family and friends, playing soccer, and gaming.
The events of that Friday night unfolded around 9:30 p.m. when an altercation occurred among a group of people that included Emanuel. During the course of the disagreement, gunfire erupted, and Emanuel was struck. He was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention, but tragically, he succumbed to his injuries later that same night. The sudden violence left his family and friends heartbroken and searching for answers.
The Metro Nashville Police Department quickly launched an investigation into the homicide. Detectives from the Homicide Unit and the Specialized Investigations Division began pursuing active leads, and their initial findings strongly suggested that Emanuel was shot by someone he knew. Their efforts led them to a residence on Idlewild Drive where they located the suspect.
The following evening, authorities arrested eighteen-year-old Edwin Ramos in connection with the fatal shooting. He was discovered hiding in the attic of the home and was taken into custody without incident. Ramos was subsequently charged with criminal homicide and aggravated assault for his alleged involvement in the death of Emanuel Rentería Delgado.
