On the evening of June 6, 2024, a burst of gunfire shattered the night in the Westwood neighborhood of Memphis, Tennessee, leaving two young men dead. One of the victims was 24-year-old Melvin Tabor. He and his friend, 21-year-old Ja'lon O Brooks, were walking to a neighborhood store in the vicinity of Shelby Drive and Southaven Road when they were suddenly ambushed.
