On January 15, 2023, at approximately 4 a.m., Philadelphia Police responded to reports of a shooting on the 1700 block of West Atlantic Street in the Tioga neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers discovered 47-year-old Jevon Gillette suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, including two to the stomach and one to the leg. He was immediately transported to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
