On March 13, 2023, at approximately 4:45 p.m., 34-year-old Richard William Derkach was fatally shot in Pittsburgh's Banksville neighborhood. The incident occurred near the intersection of Banksville Road and Crane Avenue, where Derkach was found inside a vehicle with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to Allegheny General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
