In the early evening of May 22, 2023, tragedy struck inside a residence on the 200 block of Horton Street in Philadelphia. Eighteen-year-old William Holmes was discovered with a gunshot wound, his life hanging in the balance. Philadelphia Police officers responded to the scene at approximately 5:12 p.m. and, in a desperate attempt to save him, rushed the young man to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in their patrol vehicle.
