On May 24, 2023, 15-year-old Derrick Harris was fatally shot outside Oliver Citywide Academy in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The incident occurred around 7:25 a.m., just before the start of the school day. A ShotSpotter alert indicated that 11 rounds were fired near the school's front entrance.
