On the evening of June 9, 2023, 38-year-old Thomas "Tom" Dooner was fatally shot in Philadelphia's Tacony neighborhood. At approximately 8:36 p.m., police responded to reports of a shooting on the 7100 block of Jackson Street, where they found Dooner lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds to his torso. Officers immediately transported him to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, but he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
