In the early morning hours of July 7, 2023, 42-year-old Nicole Lee-Bullock and her husband, Andrew Bullock, were returning to their West Philadelphia home on the 6100 block of Locust Street after finishing their shifts at a local lounge where they both worked. Just steps from their front door, their lives were violently cut short in a hail of gunfire.
The couple was found with multiple gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene shortly before 3 a.m.
Investigators at the scene discovered at least 18 shell casings, with evidence suggesting that more than a dozen of those shots were fired at point-blank range. Nicole Lee-Bullock was found to have been shot once in the back of the head, while her 47-year-old husband was shot in the face. The brutal attack occurred while some of their children and other relatives were inside the family's home.
A handgun, still in its holster inside Nicole's purse, was recovered at the scene, indicating she never had a chance to defend herself. Police have stated their belief that at least one of the victims was targeted in the attack, though a clear motive has not been publicly identified.
As of now, the investigation into the double homicide is ongoing. No suspects have been named, and no arrests have been made in connection with the murders of Nicole Lee-Bullock and Andrew Bullock. The community and their grieving family are left seeking answers and justice for the couple who were tragically killed just moments away from the safety of their home.
