On the evening of July 8, 2023, in Philadelphia, a burst of gunfire shattered the summer air on the 2200 block of Cecil B. Moore Avenue. When police arrived at approximately 6:22 p.m., they found 20-year-old Steven W. Pugh Jr. suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The young, Black male was rushed to Temple University Hospital in critical condition. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Steven succumbed to his injuries the following day, on July 9, 2023.
