On the evening of July 26, 2023, 18-year-old Sadiq Dove was fatally shot in Philadelphia's Graduate Hospital neighborhood. At approximately 7:14 p.m., while walking with a group near the Christian Street YMCA, Dove was ambushed by three armed individuals who exited a gray Dodge Durango with tinted windows and black rims. The assailants fired multiple rounds, including from a high-powered rifle, striking Dove several times. Despite being transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, he succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.

Surveillance footage captured the incident, showing bystanders, including a man and woman with a child in a stroller, fleeing the scene as the gunmen opened fire. The attackers continued shooting even after Dove fell to the ground, then quickly re-entered their vehicle and fled. The suspects were described as males between 18 and 25 years old, dressed in dark clothing, masks, and gloves. Two were armed with handguns, and one with a rifle. A fourth individual is believed to have acted as the getaway driver.

Investigators are exploring potential links between Dove's murder and another shooting that occurred shortly afterward on the 1700 block of Napa Street, where a residence was struck by gunfire. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with Dove's death. The Philadelphia Police Department is urging anyone with information to come forward, offering a $20,000 reward for tips leading to an arrest and conviction.
