On September 24, 2023, Pennsylvania State Police responded to a residence on Gravel Pike in Perkiomen Township, Montgomery County, following a call from 49-year-old Aaron DeShong to the FBI's National Threat Operations Center. During the call, Aaron indicated he had harmed his family members, expressing that he had been "living on the edge" since his father's death. When asked if his mother and brother were unharmed, he reportedly responded, "That's a good question."
