On December 28, 2023, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Philadelphia Police responded to reports of a shooting on the 1900 block of South 61st Street in Southwest Philadelphia. Upon arrival, officers discovered two individuals inside a white Chevy van, both suffering from gunshot wounds. The driver, identified as 28-year-old Jalonnie Gentry, had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his body.
