On August 1, 2018, Quasier Burley, a 17-year-old African American male from Philadelphia, PA, was tragically shot and killed outside the Cambria Recreation Center. Earlier that day, Burley had been involved in an argument over a basketball game. After the game, he and a friend were walking past the rec center when he was shot in the chest and arm. He ran into the rec center, collapsing at an administrator’s feet before being rushed to Temple University Hospital, where he later died.
