In the early morning hours of October 10, 2024, the streets of Philadelphia's Kensington neighborhood were shattered by the sound of gunfire. At approximately 4:28 a.m., police responded to reports of a shooting on the 3900 block of Kensington Avenue. Upon their arrival, they discovered a 29-year-old man, James Ward, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Ward was rushed to Temple University Hospital in critical condition.
For two days, medical staff fought to save his life, but his injuries proved too severe. On October 12, 2024, James Ward succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced dead.
As of now, the Philadelphia Police Department has not made any arrests in connection with Ward's murder.
