In the late morning of September 1, 2020, the life of 26-year-old Salim Ellis was tragically cut short in a Philadelphia park. A Black male, Ellis was discovered unresponsive, lying on his back in the area of 1000 W. Hunting Park Avenue. When Philadelphia Police officers arrived at the scene at approximately 9:44 a.m., they found he had sustained gunshot wounds. Despite immediate medical attention, Salim Ellis was pronounced deceased at the location.
