In the late morning of September 1, 2020, the life of 26-year-old Salim Ellis was tragically cut short in a Philadelphia park. A Black male, Ellis was discovered unresponsive, lying on his back in the area of 1000 W. Hunting Park Avenue. When Philadelphia Police officers arrived at the scene at approximately 9:44 a.m., they found he had sustained gunshot wounds.
Despite immediate medical attention, Salim Ellis was pronounced deceased at the location.
The investigation into the shooting death of Salim Ellis remains ongoing. Detectives are actively seeking information from the public to help solve this case. As of now, the case is considered unsolved, and no arrests have been made in connection with the homicide. The Philadelphia Police Department has offered a $20,000 reward for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the individual or individuals responsible for his murder. Authorities continue to urge anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward as they work to bring justice for Ellis and his family.
