In the evening hours of May 21, 2024, tragedy struck in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, when 27-year-old Dominic Julien Jackson was killed in a mass shooting. The incident, which unfolded on the first block of South 15th Street, also claimed the life of 21-year-old Zauhnteen Jackson and left three other individuals wounded. Authorities were called to the area of South 15th and Chestnut streets around 8:30 p.m.
following reports of shots being fired.
Affectionately known as Dom or Julio, Dominic was born in Harrisburg on August 16, 1996. He was a father and was remembered by loved ones for his kind and compassionate nature. After receiving his education in the Harrisburg School District and obtaining his HVAC certification from Job Corps, he worked in various roles, including as a warehouse worker and in-home caretaker.
In the wake of the shooting, the Harrisburg Police launched an investigation that led to the arrest of 27-year-old Kameron Hymes. Hymes has been charged with one count of homicide, four counts of recklessly endangering another person, and two firearms offenses in connection with the incident.
Authorities have also identified a second individual, 21-year-old Bradley Lebrun, who is believed to have been involved. Lebrun is currently wanted on a felony firearms offense and a charge of simple assault. The investigation into the shooting remains ongoing as police continue to seek information from the public regarding Lebrun's whereabouts.
