In the early hours of June 30, 2024, Philadelphia Police responded to reports of a person with a gun on the 1400 block of Kerper Street in the city's Oxford Circle neighborhood. Upon arrival at approximately 3:17 a.m., officers discovered 43-year-old Carlton Brown lying unresponsive on the sidewalk, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head.
