On August 26, 2024, at approximately 8:10 p.m., Philadelphia Police officers responded to reports of gunfire on the 4700 block of North 11th Street. Upon arrival, they discovered 41-year-old Kevin Abney lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel. Simultaneously, officers learned that 46-year-old James Cosby had been transported to Einstein Hospital in a private vehicle.
