On the evening of September 20, 2024, a shooting occurred inside a corner store on the 6500 block of Woodland Avenue in Southwest Philadelphia. Philadelphia Police officers responded to the scene at 9:53 p.m. and found 58-year-old Theodore Furman suffering from a gunshot wound. The officers transported him to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead that night.
