In the early hours of February 11, 2023, Winston-Salem police responded to reports of gunfire in the 2700 block of Eastwood Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered 25-year-old Jose Angel Mariche Cadena suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite immediate life-saving efforts, Cadena was pronounced dead at the scene by Emergency Medical Services.
