On February 28, 2023, at approximately 8:45 p.m., deputies from the Robeson County Sheriff's Office responded to a shooting incident in the 2400 block of Highway 72 West in Lumberton, North Carolina. Upon arrival, they discovered 44-year-old Coleman Junior Fields deceased at the scene. A female victim was also present and received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
