On May 19, 2023, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) officers responded to a reported shooting on Julia Avenue in north Charlotte. Upon arrival, they discovered 54-year-old Carl George Brown deceased at the scene from apparent gunshot wounds.
