On April 12, 2024, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call in the 5300 block of Pinehurst Park Drive, located in the Providence Division of Charlotte, North Carolina. Upon arrival, officers discovered 27-year-old Larry Thomas Jr. inside an apartment, suffering from a gunshot wound. MEDIC pronounced him deceased at the scene.
