On the evening of September 24, 2023, at approximately 10:00 p.m., Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) officers responded to reports of a shooting at a Shell gas station located in the 13700 block of Mallard Creek Road in Charlotte, North Carolina. Upon arrival, officers discovered 24-year-old Joshua McKennon Alexander Howze with a gunshot wound; he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
