On May 22, 2023, at approximately 8:32 a.m., the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a male individual suffering from a gunshot wound at a residence on Robersonville Road in Washington, North Carolina. Upon arrival, deputies secured the scene, and emergency medical personnel determined that the individual, identified as 52-year-old Billy Joe Bell, was deceased.
