On June 5, 2023, at approximately 3:11 p.m., officers from the Fayetteville Police Department responded to a reported shooting in the 1900 block of Louise Circle. Upon arrival, they discovered 25-year-old Xavier Lee Tyreek Copeland inside a residence, suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers and Emergency Medical Service personnel initiated life-saving measures, and Copeland was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
