Mark Daniel Leshikar, a 33-year-old Caucasian male, died on March 21, 2018, in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Leshikar, who was a Sergeant First Class in the U.S. Army, was fatally shot by another soldier after an altercation. The incident occurred outside a private residence near Fort Bragg, where both soldiers were stationed.
The altercation began after Leshikar was reportedly kicked out of the house where they were staying.
He later re-entered the house with the help of a child and allegedly went after the other soldier with a screwdriver. The other soldier, whose identity has not been disclosed, shot Leshikar in self-defense. The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene and found Leshikar dead. Despite the circumstances, no charges were filed against the shooter.
