On October 26, 2024, at approximately 10:12 p.m., Fayetteville Police Department officers responded to a reported shooting in the 2000 block of Cowan Street. Upon arrival, they discovered 37-year-old Jonathan Eastman suffering from gunshot wounds. He was promptly transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
