Jimel "Mister" Jones, a 17-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on December 13, 2020, in Fayetteville, North Carolina. The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. on Amanda Circle, where several people had gathered at a residence. A dark-colored sedan with spoke-style rims stopped in front of the house, and multiple rounds were fired from the vehicle towards the residence.
Jimel was struck by the gunfire and was later pronounced dead at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
The Fayetteville Police Department has been actively investigating the case, but as of now, no suspects have been identified or arrested. The police believe that the shooting was not random and are seeking information from the public to help solve the case. They have asked anyone with information to contact Detective J. Arnold or CrimeStoppers.
In the days following the shooting, the police released a statement asking for the public's assistance in locating Krystle Bennetti, a 34-year-old woman who may have information about the crime. However, Bennetti has not been charged in connection with the case. The investigation remains ongoing, and the authorities continue to search for leads to bring justice for Jimel and his family.
