On October 31, 2023, at approximately 5:53 p.m., Durham Police Department officers responded to a report of a gunshot wound in the 3400 block of Glasson Street in Durham, North Carolina. Upon arrival, they discovered 28-year-old William Smith suffering from a gunshot wound. Smith was transported to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead.
