On January 6, 2024, at approximately 4:00 a.m., Raleigh Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting at the Checkmate Lounge, located at 2200 East Millbrook Road in Raleigh, North Carolina. Upon arrival, officers discovered two male victims inside the establishment, both suffering from gunshot wounds.
