On April 28, 2024, at approximately 2:30 a.m., Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) officers responded to a call regarding an assault with a deadly weapon in the 7800 block of Douglas Drive, located in the Steele Creek area of Charlotte, North Carolina. Upon arrival, officers discovered 21-year-old Bryan Miller Eakin with an apparent gunshot wound. Paramedics from MEDIC pronounced him deceased at the scene.
