On January 20, 2018, 16-year-old Jarquavise Demonta White, a young African American male, was tragically shot and killed in the front yard of his home in Charlotte, North Carolina. The incident occurred just after midnight when White stepped outside his residence on Carmine Street. Shortly after, his family heard gunshots and found him lying in the yard, suffering from a gunshot wound. White was transported to Carolinas Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
