On August 22, 2006, 20-year-old Sanchase Lamar Beasley was fatally shot during a confrontation on Redwood Avenue in east Charlotte, North Carolina. A 12-year-old boy was also injured in the incident, sustaining a gunshot wound to the foot; he was expected to recover.
