On May 12, 2024, at approximately 5:00 a.m., Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call in the 2200 block of Kilborne Drive in east Charlotte, North Carolina. Upon arrival, they discovered 31-year-old Jovanni Ramirez Fuentes suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was immediately transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
