In the early hours of June 8, 2024, at approximately 12:57 a.m., Winston-Salem police responded to reports of a shooting in the parking lot of Adams Market, located at 3800 Northampton Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered 33-year-old Daron Lamonta Bines Jr. suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency medical services transported Bines to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
