John Bost III, a Special Agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives died on July 28, 2020, in Kihei, Hawaii. The incident occurred at the Kihei Division office of the Maui Police Department, where Bost was embedded and working closely with local law enforcement. An investigation by the Maui Police Department determined that Bost died from a gunshot wound after a rifle in the office was accidentally discharged.
